Man Is A Piece Of Work Alright

Based on something by Shakespeare:

Man is a piece of work, alright!

His reason fails when the sirens

Of politics sing.

On hearing their siren song,

He degrades into

Another thing.

Nothing like an angel,

Always seeking an angle,

Easily bought, body and soul,

By any shining bangle.

How much more like an animal,

Whose true beauty,

Is more like dirt

Than anything worthwhile.

It wasn’t always that way,

But it has become more so–

Today!

  1. I don’t know any of that from Shakespeare, but it works for me, John.
    Best wishes, Pete.
