Before I get into that, let me tell you that you really ought to be postmarking my blog and sharing it with your friends because I am a no-bullshit blogger and the things that I blog about might help people from making some of the biggest mistakes of their lives.
Lately, we have all been hearing the Republican bigwigs promising to find ways to fix the United States Government Spending Budget in a manner that will not affect social security and medicare beneficiaries. And other Republicans in Congress want to delete the programs entirely and rip them out by the roots.
Who and what to believe in this age of confusion becomes a problem for some folks.
There are a few reasons why many people might not trust the Republican Party on social security.
One reason is that the party has shown a history of trying to cut social security benefits in order to pay for other programs. (Programs that benefit the rich mostly– at the expense of the less rich and the poor.)
Additionally, the Republican Party has a history of supporting cuts to social security in order to pay for other programs. (Programs that benefit mostly the rich and the super-rich and the obscenely rich instead of the middle class, the lower class, and the bottom of the pit class.
Finally, the Republican Party has a history of not being very transparent about its plans for social security. (Or for any other things they talk about planning. It’s almost like they know how to tell people what they want but they have no idea of how to get the things they want.).
It’s the same here with our current Conservative government. They are trying to sell everything off to their rich friends, and don’t care if ordinary people become destitute.
Best wishes, Pete.
