State Of The Union Addresses Are Always Viewed With Skepticism. The One We Are About To Hear Will Be No Different.

The iconic State of The Union Address is almost here and there are already reports about the high degree of skepticism that many Americans will be receiving this presidential speech with. So I decided that before we are treated to the State of The Union message this time, I would explore some of the reasons that so many do view it with suspicion, cynicism or disbelief. So, here we go:

Every year, the President of the United States delivers the State of the Union address, a speech which is meant to be a reflection of the current state of the country. Unfortunately, many Americans view the State of the Union address with suspicion or cynicism, instead of seeing it as an opportunity for the President to outline his plans for the nation.

The primary reason for this skepticism is the lack of trust in the President and his administration. The 2016 election cycle was incredibly divisive, with many Americans feeling that their voices were not taken into account. This distrust has been further compounded by the President’s tendency to make bold promises and statements that often don’t come to fruition.

The reason this election cycle was so divisive included the fact that once the cycle was underway, more than 77 million Americans on the more radical spectrum of The Republican party immediately coalesced in their support of the bullish energy of Candidate Trump thus embracing their own reality, their own conspiracy theory-driven cocoon of comfort and release from some of their accumulated paranoia and left the Main Stream ideology that formerly had held the Nation together in one mostly-united body.

From healthcare reform to immigration policies, many Americans feel that the President has made promises that he can’t keep, creating a sense of distrust and cynicism.

Another factor that contributes to the cynicism is the fact that the State of the Union is often used as a political tool by the President. Instead of focusing on issues that are important to the American people, the President often uses the State of the Union address to score political points with his base, instead of outlining meaningful policy initiatives. This often leads to the feeling that the President is more interested in scoring political victories than actually improving the lives of Americans.

I am of the personal opinion that no president in History before Trump ever made the greatest use of every possible political talking point and mechanism to push his own image and to gloss over the greater needs of The People more than Trump was able to do.

A large mass of the American electorate ate this divisiveness up and embraced it with all the fervor at their command finally leading to the tragic events at the Capitol in Washington on January 6th, 2021, a date, as many say, that will live in Infamy.

Finally, it is important to note that the current political climate has made it difficult for the President to craft a meaningful State of the Union address.

With the nation increasingly divided along partisan lines, the President is often limited in the topics he can address. This often leads to a speech that is more focused on rhetoric than actual policy initiatives, which does little to address the nation’s major issues.

In conclusion, the State of the Union address is a tradition that should be viewed as an opportunity for the President to outline his vision for the nation. Unfortunately, many Americans view the address with suspicion or cynicism due to a lack of trust in the President, the perception that the address is used as a political tool, and the current political climate.

And I believe that I am safe in saying that none of this mess is going to get any better anytime soon because the parties are still biting and devouring each other when what is needed is some kind of willingness to work across the aisles. I believe that working across the aisles is a lost art in Washington and it will take a massive catastrophic incident or climactic event to come anywhere near bringing the two sides anywhere near together ever again.

I believe that the upcoming State of The Union speech will be viewed in Right Wing circles as an endless cacophony of false promises and lies about achievements already made and in Liberal Circles as a list of things that are desperately needed to move the nation forward but will be a list of things that will be dead on arrival when they fall into Republican hands.

Thus the hand that writes will write and will then move on and we will be no better off than we were before the speech was ever given.

Is The Chinese Surveillance Baloon Anything New?

Today, the United States military shot down a high-flying surveillance balloon over safe coastal waters and began salvage operations to recover it according to reports. This balloon had been drifting over certain sensitive areas of the U.S., for days and had been tracked by military operations. The sensitive areas reportedly included some American Nuclear sites in Montana. The Chinese government reportedly had claimed that the balloon was nothing but a weather balloon that had drifted off course, taking it over the Continental United States by accident.

What Is This Balloon Thing All About?

QUOTE: “…..U.S. officials first detected the balloon and its payload on January 28 when it entered U.S. airspace near the Aleutian Islands. The balloon traversed Alaska, Canada and re-entered U.S. airspace over Idaho. “President Biden asked the military to present options and on Wednesday President Biden gave his authorization to take down the Chinese surveillance balloon as soon as the mission could be accomplished without undue risk to us civilians under the balloon’s path,” said a senior defense official speaking on background. “Military commanders determined that there was undue risk of debris causing harm to civilians while the balloon was overland.” …” END QUOTE.

CITATION — The above quotation is taken from the following source:
https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/3288543/f-22-safely-shoots-down-chinese-spy-balloon-off-south-carolina-coast/

Does China Have A History With Balloon Surveillance?

Yes, China has a long history of using balloons for military surveillance.

The use of balloons as a form of reconnaissance dates back as far as the Warring States period (475–221 BC) in ancient China.

During World War II, the Chinese military was known to employ balloon-borne cameras to observe Japanese targets. In more recent years, China has continued to use balloons for surveillance purposes.

In the 1990s, the Chinese military reportedly used large helium balloons to track the movements of American aircraft in the South China Sea. In 2020, the Chinese military reportedly tested a high-altitude airship for reconnaissance purposes.

Why A Balloon As Opposed To A Military Surveillance Plane?

1. Cost: Balloons are much cheaper to purchase and operate than airplanes.

2. Stealth: Balloons are much more difficult to detect than airplanes, allowing for covert military surveillance operations.

3. Weather: Balloons can stay in the air for much longer periods of time than airplanes, allowing for longer surveillance operations.

4. Flexibility: Balloons are much more maneuverable in the air than airplanes, allowing for more precise surveillance operations.

5. Environmentally-Friendly: Balloons are much more eco-friendly than airplanes, which require significant amounts of fuel and generate noise pollution.

What Are Some Retaliatory Actions China Might Take Because We Shot Their Balloon Down?

It is hard to say because relations are strained between the United States and China right now and, according to the analysts, those relations do not seem to be getting any better anytime soon.

But here is a short list of the things that I personally think the Chinese might do in retaliation for our shooting down their spy balloon:

1. Issue a diplomatic protest and demand an explanation.
I think this would be their first response — to protest and to play dumb and to show their indignation.

2. Launch a retaliatory strike against US assets.
I think this is less likely unless those assets might be something like attacking some low flying surveillance asset that the United States might have in operation in the Chinese skies.

3. Impose economic or trade sanctions against the US.
I am not sure China is in a position to issue economic or trade sanctions against the USA unless it would be in some wholly token or symbolic manner but one can never be sure.

4. Increase military presence in the region.
I think this would be a knee jerk action and would not be very impressive because they have been doing that already.

5. Increase surveillance in the region.
Now that their little balloon ploy has been exposed, I am thinking that their best scientific and military minds are probably scrambling to find other means and methods of doing surveillance on the activities and assets of the United States. I am thinking satellites. Satellites make the most sense to me.

6. Increase propaganda against the US.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is going to happen and is probably already happening even as I write this post.

7. Complain to the UN and other international organizations.
Playing the victim to gain sympathy from others around the world is common among bad actors who get caught with their pants down.

8. Launch cyber attacks against US assets.
I believe this is a possibility although I am thinking (and it is nothing but my opinion), that doing cyber attacks and even cyber spying is somoething they might possibly have been doing for a long time now.

9. Lobby other countries to support their position.
This, to my way of thinking, is a no brainer.

10. Cut off diplomatic relations with the US.
They might threaten it, but I am not personally convinced that they would actually do it.

“Lying George” Santos Reportedly Has Ties To Russian Oligarch

Opinion Editorial

George Santos who was recently elected to congress to represent the 3rd congressional district of New York and who is under investigation for padding his campaign resume with numerous falsehoods has now reportedly been found to have ties to a powerful and wealthy Russian Oligarch.

Why am I not surprised to learn this? It would serve Russia well to have someone in congress sympathetic to their causes, don’t you think? I keep remembering that the Republican Party where Santos is now a member has a faction that some people have affectionately dubbed “The Putin Party” for their constant public support of Russian ideals and agenda. I am not going to claim that poor beleaguered Congressman Santos has any proclivities to support or favor the Russians because of his alleged ties to an Oligarch, but for some reason that might be strictly personal, the whole thing smells fishy to me.

The whole “Ties to a Russian Oligarch” thing seems to swirl around some alleged contributions made to Santo’s campaign by a person reported to be a “Cousin” of an Oligarch and if you want a better picture of what I am talking about here you need to read the information contained under the following link:

https://people.com/politics/george-santos-campaign-ties-russian-oligarch/

Poor George! He seems to have set off some kind of firestorm with some of the claims he made about himself. I wonder what kind of representative he will be with all the baggage that his detractors have been piling onto him lately.

A Moment (Or More) Away

I have had to do some things so I haven’t been blogging too much. My Internet provider informed me he was going to have to terminate my internet service through no fault of his own …which probably means that he has not paid his bill ….so I have had to find a new provider. I am pleased to announce that I have found a new provider and am on target to run for a while longer yet. This provider is located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA and has been in business for a long time and has nothing but rave reviews. I am a happy cat once again.

Check it out: https://www.ebay.com/str/celectronics01?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2563

Aside from that, it has been snowing here again ..on and off and on and off again …a heavy wet snow .. a bitch to shovel ..but even thought we are 84 years old, we got ‘er done and are still alive as far as I can tell.

I have recently gotten a little tired of bitching and moaning about Trump and Russia and Ukraine … I wish somebody would just call Putin’s nuclear bluff and go all in for pushing his ass out of Ukraine while it can still be done ….Both sides of this conflict are now getting assistance in the Ukraine battles from “Their allies” which means that there are now a bunch of nations involved and if people want to talk about a world war, then I believe that with all the allies involved, we are already there.

Republicans Are All In For Censorship And Book Burnings,

“ALL” Republicans? Maybe not “ALL” republicans but some of the radical Republicans for sure! I found a case in point on “IN SANER THOUGHT” this morning that illustrates what I am talking about here. Here is a quotation from “In Saner Thought” that I believe goes right to the point of how Republicans love censorship:

QUOTE — “

A freshman lawmaker from Wyoming has already begun efforts to remove LGBTQ+ books for youth from both school and public libraries in the state.

Republican Rep.-elect Jeanette Ward has introduced House Bill 87, which expands the definition of “child pornography” to mean “any visual depiction, including any photograph, film, video, picture, cartoon, drawing, computer or computer generated image or picture, whether or not made or produced by electronic, mechanical or other means, or any other form of depiction of explicit sexual conduct.”

The bill also repeals a law that gives exemptions for those who “possess or disseminate obscene material” for activities related to schools, universities, colleges, museums, and public libraries….” END QUOTE.

Conservatives Love To Burn Books:

https://www.alternet.org/2022/04/the-republican-book-burning-project-is-right-out-of-the-authoritarian-playbook-former-dhs-official

Hitler Loved To Burn Books:

https://www.answers.com/military-history/Why_did_the_Nazis_burn_books

Republicans will undoubtedly get to the point where they will advocate burning all books that contain ideas contrary to their own. That is my opinion at any rate. I think book burning and censorship of opposing ideas is will within the purview of what I consider to be radical right wing fascistic beliefs.

But wait! There is more!

In today’s world, the idea of a government burning books in schools and libraries is a cause of great concern. Great concern, that is, to everybody but the radical factions of the Republican Party, apparently.

Not only does it have a detrimental effect on citizens’ right to access information, it can also have a far-reaching impact on society as a whole. When a government starts campaigns to burn books, it implies an attempt to control the flow of information and ideas.

Who is in more dire need to control the flow of information and ideas these days than the terribly divided and talentless radical wing of the Republican Party?

This has the potential to suppress freedom of speech and thought, leading to the censorship of certain topics, ideas, and opinions.

Such censorship is a violation of human rights and can lead to a society in which citizens feel unable to express their views. I believe the crazy factions of the Republican Party are all in favor of making certain of our citizens unable to express their ideas and viewpoints — I am thinking LGBTQ people as one example … in case you have not noticed.

The burning of books can also have a negative effect on education and knowledge. Schools and libraries are the primary sources of knowledge and information for many people, and when those books are removed or destroyed, people are deprived of the opportunity to learn about different topics, perspectives, and ideas. This can lead to a lack of critical thinking and the development of narrow-minded beliefs.
And I challenge anybody to show me who has more narrow-minded beliefs than some of the damned idiots who populate right wing radical conservatism!

Furthermore, when books are burned, cultural heritage and history can also be destroyed. Libraries are often home to rare and valuable books, containing important information about the past. If these books are destroyed, valuable information and knowledge is lost, and future generations are unable to benefit from the collective wisdom of our ancestors.

In conclusion, when a government starts campaigns to burn books in schools and libraries, it has a detrimental effect on society as a whole. It can lead to the suppression of freedom of speech, the loss of knowledge and education, and the destruction of cultural heritage and history. Therefore, it is essential that governments refrain from censorship and instead encourage the free exchange of ideas and information.

The Fate Of A Fatal Obsession

OPINION
NINE STATES NOW HAVE LAWS BANNING MILITARY STYLE WEAPON SALES AND OWNERSHIP
BUT HOW WILL THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST GUNS AND GUN VIOLENCE WORK OUT IN THE END?

FIRST OF ALL please read the following from “In Saner Thought”

….. Illinois on Tuesday became the latest U.S. state to ban the sale or possession of assault weapons.

Just hours after the legislation’s passage in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the “Protect Illinois Communities Act” into law during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Springfield. Supporters, some of whom were gun violence survivors, erupted with applause and cheers as the governor presented the signed document……” (https://lobotero.com/2023/01/18/closing-thought-18jan23/)

The debate over the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons has been a hot topic in the United States over the last few years, with many arguing that the availability of such weapons has led to an increase in mass shootings across the country.

However, despite this, there are still many Republicans who continue to support the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons. One of the main reasons why Republicans support the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons is because of their belief in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Given that explanation, I think I would add this: Yes, I believe the Republicans believe in the Second Amendment and I am sure that is one of the main arguments they will always use to excuse their support for the sale of the automatic weapons that are killing our citizens through mass shootings and other criminality. But I believe there is an even more overriding reason for Republican support of automatic weapon sales in the United States and that reason is that they are fervent supporters of the interests of big business over the interests of ordinary Americans, and who can think of a bigger business than the gun industry?

Lately, I have been constructing a conspiracy theory of my very own about why the Rethugs are so in love with automatic gun sales. Let me share my newly-constructed cons[iracy theory right now:

I believe that the crazy side of the Republican Party … the ones who are known to have supported the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th, 2010, probably are daydreaming about the day which they hope will come in which they can finally foment a bigger insurrection …. an armed insurrection …, that will finally take control of the entire government and put them in the driver’s seat forever. For that reason, it is my conspiratorial belief that the Republicans would like to see every American armed and ready to march to the drum of their tyranny. I am patiently awaiting to see if they plan to orchestrate any false flags or other schemes within the next few years to help make their dream of domination a reality.

This amendment states that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon, and many Republicans believe that this should include the right to own military-grade weapons. They argue that if the government were to restrict the sale and ownership of such weapons, it would be a violation of their constitutional rights.

Another reason why Republicans support the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons is because they believe that such weapons provide an important deterrent to crime. They argue that if criminals know that their potential victims have access to firearms that are more powerful than their own, they are more likely to think twice before attempting to commit a crime. They also argue that if the government were to restrict the sale and ownership of such weapons, it would be a violation of the right of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families.

Finally, many Republicans believe that the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons is an important part of the country’s history and culture, and that it is important to preserve this part of America’s heritage. They argue that the Second Amendment was put in place to ensure that citizens could protect themselves from threats both foreign and domestic, and that restricting the sale and ownership of such weapons would be a disservice to the legacy of those who fought to protect these rights.

These are just a few of the reasons why Republicans continue to support the sale and ownership of military-grade weapons despite all the mass shootings that have occurred in recent years. While there are certainly valid arguments on both sides of the debate, it is important to remember that the right to keep and bear arms is enshrined in the United States Constitution, and that it is up to the American people to decide how best to honor and protect this right.

But while the American People are struggling to decide how best to honor and protect these rights, they must also decide how to protect themselves from the gun violence that comes from exercise of these rights by criminals and nut cases. This brings up the influence of the gun lobby, money and possible corruption in high places. Right now, it is the gun lobby that controls the dialogue in the United States. The constitution is their excuse but money is their motivation no matter how many innocent citizen victims must die. That is my opinion about the tragic shit.

Will There Ever Be Any Hope Of Gun Violence Control In America?

The gun lobby is able to prevent Congress from banning automatic weapons sales to civilians largely through a combination of political and financial pressure.

While money is certainly a factor, the gun lobby’s ability to mobilize its supporters and pressure individual members of Congress is also a major factor.

The gun lobby is able to get its supporters to contact their elected representatives and share their views on the issue, which can be more effective than simply donating money. Additionally, the gun lobby has a large presence in the media and is able to consistently push its narrative that any attempt to ban automatic weapons is an attack on the Second Amendment.

What can be done to lessen gun lobby influence over congress?

1. Increase public awareness of the gun lobby’s influence on Congress. Educate citizens on the various ways the gun lobby attempts to influence the legislative process, such as through lobbying, campaign donations, and other financial support.

2. Encourage citizens to contact their elected officials and urge them to reject the influence of the gun lobby.

3. Work to enact campaign finance reform that limits the amount of money that can be donated to political campaigns from the gun lobby.

4. Support candidates who are not influenced by the gun lobby.
Unfortunately, this requirement must have been overlooked or ignored by the majority of voters in our recent midterms because the House of Representatives is now wholly controlled by people who I believe are more inclined to listen to the gun lobbies than they are to listen to the American People.

5. Push for legislation that would require greater disclosure of the gun lobby’s influence on Congress.

6. Work to pass laws that would limit the ability of the gun lobby to influence Congress.

7. Support independent legislative research and analysis that is free from the influence of the gun lobby.

8. Urge Congress to pass common sense gun reform measures that would limit the ability of the gun lobby to influence the legislative process.

When elected officials won’t listen to citizens concerns about gun violence and gun control:
Steps that be taken:

1. Gather a group of like-minded citizens and organize a protest or rally. (Be sure to wear your helmets and gas masks if you do this. ) Some officials do not like protests or protestors and these events can get rough.

2. Organize a boycott of the elected officials’ businesses or services.

3. Write letters to the editor or op-eds in local newspapers.

4. Publish a petition online and collect signatures.

5. Use social media to speak out and spread awareness.

6. Contact other elected officials who might have more influence.

7. Attend city council or other local government meetings to voice your opinion.

8. Run for office yourself, or support candidates who share your views.

How The House of Representatives Might Become A Danger To Democracy

OPINION EDITORIAL
By Blog Author, John

Now that the lunatics are running the asylum Americans should be made aware of how relative juveniles in positions of great power in The People’s House can be seriously detrimental to our whole way of government.

Consider these things carefully:

The democratic process in the United States of America relies on the House of Representatives as one of its foundational systems.

This system of government is built on freedom and equality, with the House of Representatives serving as the vital link between the people and their government. As such, it is important to understand how the House of Representatives could become a danger to democracy.

At its best, the House of Representatives serves as an important check on the power of the presidency. With 435 members, the House acts as a safeguard against presidential overreach, as well as a platform for the expression of public opinion. However, there are a number of ways in which the House of Representatives could become a threat to democracy.

First, the House of Representatives could be subject to gerrymandering, a practice whereby electoral districts are redrawn to favor one political party or group. This practice is particularly threatening to democracy, as it undermines the principle of one person, one vote. Additionally, gerrymandering can lead to legislative gridlock, where two parties are unable to reach the necessary consensus to pass any meaningful legislation.

Second, the House of Representatives could become susceptible to special interests. This can happen if influential special interests are able to pour money and resources into races, thus ensuring that their favored candidates get elected. This threatens democracy as special interests can use their resources to push policies and laws that are not in the best interests of the general public.

Finally, the House of Representatives could be subject to the same partisan gridlock that exists in the Senate. This type of political stalemate is especially harmful to democracy, as it prevents the passage of important legislation in an already gridlocked Congress. This could have far-reaching implications, as the government becomes unable to address issues such as climate change and income inequality.

The House of Representatives can become a danger to democracy in a variety of ways. From gerrymandering to special interests to gridlock, it is essential to stay vigilant in order to protect the structure of our democracy.

Very soon now, America is going to see the consequences of the votes they cast in the midterms and I don’t think it is going to be pretty at all.

Is Anti-War Activism Good Or Bad For America In These Troubled Times?

OPINION
Let us see if I am able to be fair, balanced and sensible in answering a pervasive and sometimes troubling question such as this one.

Let me start to try to answer the question this way: I believe this is a difficult question to answer as opinions may vary depending on individual perspectives.

Generally speaking, antiwar activism can be seen as beneficial for America as it can help raise awareness and bring an end to unjust wars. On the other hand, it can also create tension between different political and ideological groups, which is not beneficial for the country. Ultimately, it is up to individuals to decide whether they believe that antiwar activism is good or bad for America.

That would be my summation of an acceptable answer for a democratic America. But I think there are some pros and cons that apply here.

DISADVANTAGES
1. Loss of Support: Antiwar activism can lead to a loss of public support for the military, which can reduce morale and weaken the country’s overall security. 2. Political Divisions: Antiwar activism can create political divisions within a nation, which can undermine its unity and weaken its ability to respond to threats. 3. Unrest: Antiwar protests can lead to civil unrest, which can lead to violence and damage to property. 4. Economic Impact: Antiwar activism can lead to economic losses due to boycotts, sanctions, and other economic measures that are imposed in response to the protests. 5. International Relations: Antiwar activism can lead to strained international relations, which can reduce cooperation between nations and lead to political instability.

ADVANTAGES
1. Antiwar activism allows people to express their opinions and concerns about war and its effects on society. It also raises awareness of the negative consequences of war and helps to create a dialogue around the issue.

2. Antiwar activism provides an outlet for those who have been directly affected by war to speak out against it. It also provides an opportunity for those who have not experienced war to empathize and show solidarity with those affected.

3. Antiwar activism can be an effective tool for promoting peace and understanding between countries and cultures. It can also be used to pressure governments into taking action to end wars or to reduce their presence in foreign countries.

4. Antiwar activism can help to bring attention to human rights abuses and injustices that occur during war and can be used to pressure governments and international organizations to take action.

5. Antiwar activism can be a form of nonviolent protest that can create a sense of community and connection among activists and those affected by war. It can provide an opportunity to come together and show strength in numbers.

CAN ANTIWAR ACTIVISM PREVAIL IN THE USA?
Yes, antiwar activism can prevail in the United States. There have been many successful antiwar movements throughout US history, including the Vietnam War protests, the Iraq War protests, and the current protests against US military intervention in the Middle East. The power of collective action and peaceful protest can be a powerful tool in influencing government policy and the opinions of the public.

CAN ANTIWAR ACTIVISM HARM THE UNITED STATES?
Yes, antiwar activism can harm the United States. The U.S. relies heavily on military power to maintain its place as a global superpower and many view war as necessary for the defense of the nation. When antiwar activists oppose military action, they can weaken the country’s reputation and decrease its ability to defend itself. Additionally, antiwar activism can lead to conflict within the government and the public, which can weaken the country’s morale and its ability to respond effectively to global threats.

CAN ANTIWAR ACTIVISM BENEFIT THE UNITED STATES?
Yes, antiwar activism can benefit the United States by preventing wars from breaking out, reducing military spending, and helping to maintain a peaceful international environment. Activists can also raise awareness about the human costs of war and help to hold government officials accountable for their decisions. Additionally, antiwar activism can help to create a more tolerant, inclusive, and equitable society.

ARE ANTIWAR ACTIVISTS SPINNING THEIR WHEELS?
It depends on what you mean by “spinning their wheels.” Antiwar activists in the United States have certainly had success in raising awareness about the issues surrounding war and militarism and in mobilizing people to take action. However, the US government has not changed its foreign policy in any significant way in response to these efforts, so in that sense, antiwar activists could be seen as “spinning their wheels.”

The Danger To Democracy Posed By Radicalized Republicans

OPINION

The radical republicans, like some of those now loose in the American House of Representatives and elsewhere, pose a significant threat to democracy.

Their extreme views, intolerance of opposing opinions, and refusal to compromise can create a hostile political environment and lead to more extreme forms of government, such as totalitarianism. I think this was best demonstrated during the recent administration of former president, Trump. The Trump administration was where we almost lost our democratic way of life, if you will recall. That administration was the closest the United States ever came to getting a totalitarian government. The sad part is that there are at least 77 million poor misguided souls who actually embrace such nonsense. It is reminiscent of what happened to Germany back in the late 1930s when Hitler got elected as Chancellor and went on to be the sole dictator.

America today seems to be on the verge of accepting a totalitarian regime. I do not know why this is true but I assume it is because some of our citizens have swallowed the extremist propaganda and are desperate for some kind of change in Washington.

Additionally, radical republicans tend to be anti-establishment, meaning they oppose traditional democratic institutions like the rule of law, the separation of powers, and the protection of civil rights. I believe they definitely see themselves as a law unto themselves and that they want themselves to be the only ones with any kind of rights. Because they tend to be centered on a bastardized and politicized version of Evangelical Christian values, I also think they believe that they are destined by God to rule the world.

If the radicalized right-wing trash ever gets full power in the American government for any length of time, I pity the ethnic communities because they will see all their rights eroded and destroyed as time goes on through the right-wing pretense that every curtailment of their rights will be for the good of the country or for the good of the children. If it happens, it will be an insidiously slow process but it will be implemented and pursued with all the power the traitorous radical right can muster.

This radical right-wing power grab can lead to a weakening of democracy, as well as an increase in political polarization and violence. Finally, radical republicans often have a narrow view of the world, which can lead to an exclusion of minority groups and an intolerance of diversity, both of which are essential to the success of any democracy.

The real danger, as I see it, is that most Americans today, are so caught up in themselves that they are blind to the dangers, thinking that an autocratic government could never happen here. The problem is that the process is in place and even now, is slowly working toward that very goal.

Is It Really A Bad Idea To Vote For Republicans In Today’s Divisive Government?

OPINION

Voting for the Republican Party is not necessarily a bad idea, since there are various issues that are important to different types of voters. The operative phrase here is “Different Types of Voters.”

However, it is important to be aware of the platform and principles of the Republican Party before voting in any election. Most people can easily see that the Republican platform does not, in most ways, favor the interests and welfare of the common everyday citizen, but is, instead, designed to advance the interests of the rich and the super-rich, most often at the expense of the rest of everybody in the country.

Millions of working-class American citizens and the poorer class of citizens are often caused unnecessary struggle and suffering because of programs favored by the Republicans.

A Republican platform may not support policies that are important to certain individuals, including environmental protection, LGBTQ+ rights, diversity and inclusion, workers’ rights, or social welfare policies, which can be a major issue for many individuals.

In point of fact, I believe that Republicans will always vote against environmental protection because they favor big corporate profits over the health and well-being of the citizens.

I believe the LGBTQ people are always going to have a rougher time under Republicans and that if they value what few rights they have already been given under the Democrats, they had better think twice about ever voting for any Republican.

Those folks who depend on their monthly social security checks and who might have to use medicare benefits from time to time may eventually see both of these democratic advantages dissolve under the tyranny of Republicans because these safety nets have been the target for elimination by the Republicans for a long long time now. Republicans have always hated any program that is designed to help people who really need help and I believe they will always try to get rid of all such programs. If American voters don;t wake up, the day will surely come when Republicans will have gained total control of the government on a permanent basis and all the safety net programs that we enjoy now will be things of the past.

Recap

It is important for everyone to notice that recent Republican Party governance of the national government has resulted in the rolling back many of the social, economic, and environmental protections put in place by previous administrations, which may not be in line with the values held by certain voters.

Ultimately, individuals should be fully aware of a party’s platform before they vote in any election.

Ultimately I believe that everyone who loves their country should be aware that the current radical factions in control of the government have little more agenda than the complete destruction of our democracy and raising themselves to a position of dictatorial power on a permanent basis.

I think the example of the attempted overthrow of the government on January 6th, 2021 by right-wing insurrectionists should be the everlasting and indelible example of what I am talking about here.
